Who?

Hola! I'm Matías. Growing up in Curicó, Chile, I taught myself how to do computer stuff and discovered that I really enjoy making things. That's mostly it.

I started with little Mac apps. Then some crazy guys wanted me to build a photo app named Seahorse (spoiler: it was a failure), so I dropped out of computer science and moved to San Francisco. I went back to Chile, and most of that team stayed together to make Cornershop, a grocery delivery app. I wrote its first iPhone app, ended up as Head of Design, and stuck around after Uber bought it.

These days I do design work through my studio, Mantisa, and make my own apps on the side, like Fernando, the radio from the old Grand Theft Auto games, and Mr. Mike, which I made for my grandma.

I also like playing piano, videogames, and Miatas, all of which I kinda suck at. I once made a meme of Ditto doing the conga, and it went viral.
