Give it a fold

An unfolded iPhone Duo showing the matias.me home page in Safari

New site! I rebuilt this place from scratch with Astro. It’s static HTML all the way down, and it now comes off Cloudflare Workers instead of GitHub Pages.

There is exactly one piece of JavaScript doing something interesting, and it’s the excuse for writing this post. Every work cover on the home page is a card that folds open into the note behind it, like a sheet of paper you unfold on a desk. The lid lifts, the crease shades itself, the text runs across both halves while they’re still moving. On a phone it dismisses like a sheet on iOS: scroll to the top, keep pulling, and the note folds shut under your finger.

So go tap one. Give it a fold.1

Like Marco, I’m troubled with the current state of the world, and I’ve been quiet for longer than I’d like. I’m going to try to post more often. At least here.

Footnotes

  1. With JavaScript off, the cover is a plain link to the note and the page behind it is a real page. That’s the whole fallback. ↩
